What a miracle it is, given the history of space/time and the incredible collection of atoms that we are, that I am here to say thank you for your post to a you that is here, as well
I enjoyed your column about galaxies remembering and the star, Earendel, Susanna. A bit of a different theme than your usual writing! And reminding us about the poem that speaks of "infinity in the palm of your hand", about Zelenskyy and the need to see heroes and villains. Thank you!
(At first was still puzzling over, how is a star so ancient, so bright still visible; but then realized, of course, that 12 billion light-years = age as well as distance, so, as you say, long gone. And knowing that the biggest and brightest stars are the ones that have the briefest lifetimes!)
Such a beautiful, poetic piece! What is that saying about having "the stars in our eyes"?!
Yes, exactly! Thanks Wendy, xx

And this is such a lovely, generous response, Johnny. Thank you. :)

Thanks so much Pete. It's so hard for us to grasp the scale of the sun even, and also to grasp what's happening in Ukraine.
